The Rhomboids connect the inside of the shoulder blade to the spine. They retract and stabilise the shoulder blades to afford mechanical efficiency. They are short flat powerful muscles and often over stretched as a result of poor posture. Painful knots in the Rhomboids benefit tremendously from stretching and from trigger point massage, it is one of the nicest areas to have treated. Self-massage techniques can be very helpful; you can use balls and pressure tools.
