Stop doing “toning” workouts. Train with HEAVY weights - failure by the last rep. Short-duration workouts, LESS THAN 60 SECONDS b/w sets. Long rest periods is power lifting and does not burn fat. Try CIRCUIT training: 2-4 exercises moving quickly with little to no rest - generate lactic acid in the muscles. COMPOUND MOVEMENTS give greater metabolic effect.
